Solar World Cinema | The Netherlands
In The Netherlands, the concept of the Solar Cinema was born in 2006. Solar World Cinema had the mission to inspire others to set up Solar Cinema’s around the world, creating the digital toolkit where all information and knowledge is shared open source and founding the Solar Cinema Network

CineSolar | Brazil
In Brazil, CineSolar is an initiative by Brazucah Produções and has been operating since 2013 as a traveling hub for art, technology, sustainability, and cinema. In addition to open-air screenings, it offers environmental education workshops. Its vehicle, a specially adapted van, houses an interactive science and art station, making the experience even more immersive and educational. CineSolar is co-fouder of the Solar Cinema Network.

Kurta na Kombi | Brazil
A mobile cultural and film collective founded in 2019 in Natal, Brazil. Its mission is to bring Brazilian cinema — especially local short films — to diverse audiences by transforming public spaces into open-air theaters. In 2025 they joined the network en went solar using the digital toolkit. They also organize Clipe na Kombi, a traveling music video showcase and competition. All events are free and community-focused.

Peli Solar | Peru
Peli Solar is the first film project in Peru that operates 100% on solar energy. It is the integration of innovation, technology, art and education to serve as a tool for social and cultural transformation, generating positive change in society by bridging the gap between people in cities,neighborhoods, and small communities.

Plataforma Visual | Chile
Plataforma Visual is a production company with a lot of experience organising cultural activities throughout Chile. The mission is focused on decentralising the arts and culture by carrying out our projects mainly in areas far removed from the traditional cultural distribution circuits. As a team, we believe in finding new and engaging ways to involve both private and public sectors in this work, developing a wide range of projects that include Solar Cinema screenings, Artistic Productions, Festivals, Traveling Theater Performances, Educational Workshops, Street Parades, and more.

Sunshine Cinema | South Africa
Sunshine Cinema is a non-profit solar-powered media network working through Southern Africa to address youth unemployment. We equip young entrepreneurs with a Sunbox (mobile solar cinema kit) and the skills necessary to become media facilitators, earn an income and spark social change.

Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival | Greece
This is a documentary film festival with emphasis on international documentaries - with tributes, parallel events, educational zone, seminars and masterclasses. Since 2024 they also tour with there films with a Solar Cinema. The main Festival takes place in Kalamata and part of the program is screened in 8 other cities of Peloponnese. Of all the actions during the year, our goal is to get the unfamiliar audience in touch with the cinematographic documentary genre. Our priority, is for the young audience to get in touch with the documentary and get involved actively and creatively with it, giving them the first motive to create their own productions.
